Business Accelerator Mastermind

What is Business Accelerator Mastermind?

Business Accelerator Mastermind is a peer consulting group of company presidents and CEOs. In our group meetings, we work on business issues confronting our members. By creating an informal board of advisors, members improve their company performance.

Our group pull together diverse business owners from various industries. Through this variety of industries and viewpoints, we avoid the kind of “inbred thinking” that occurs when people from the same industry are the sole advisors or sounding boards.

What are the benefits?

We typically find that four things must be present to justify belonging. A member must have commitment, desire, humility, and justify the ROI:

  1. All members are serious about growing and improving their businesses. If you are not committed to working on the tough issues facing your business, Business Accelerator Mastermind is not for you.
  2. If you do not have a strong desire to do the uncomfortable things that will accompany your commitment, Business Accelerator Mastermind is not for you.
  3. If you do not have the humility to say “I don’t know all the answers.” as well as the willingness to get outside input, Business Accelerator Mastermind is not for you.
  4. Lastly, you must be able to justify that the cost of membership is less than the gains you will receive. If the above four are present, the ROI takes care of itself. They do this because the cost of Business Accelerator Mastermind comes back in profits many times over.

What types of businesses are part of the mastermind?

A wide variety of businesses belong. Among them: service, manufacturing, tech and sales organizations, banks, hospitals, minority-run businesses, female-run businesses. It is this diversity that adds enormous value.

Should I have a coach who is on the “inside” of my industry?

No you shouldn’t – and here’s why. Your industry has in-bred thinking. What it takes to break things loose is ideas from people who don’t know all the “unwritten rules” of your industry. I have seen it over and over – great ideas come from people far outside your industry who can bring fresh perspective and new insights.

Isn’t coaching for businesses that are struggling?

Actually, the most successful organizations are successful for a reason. It is this outside eye or set of eyes that hold leaders to a higher standard and quickly redirects them when they are in danger of getting off track. Every business has the occasional crisis. However, our typical group member is a successful CEO or leader in executive management who wants to be even more successful. Our group is full of bright, driven men and women. They are award-winning entrepreneurs and leaders in publicly traded companies.
